The History of Vowles Transport Limited

Vowles Transport Ltd was formed in 1986 by Lindsay and Heather Vowles initially focusing on the Waikato and Bay of Plenty transporting fresh eggs from poultry farms in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas with one truck and semi trailer to a central grading plant in Hamilton but expanded our reach into the Auckland and Wellington markets in 1988 due to customer demand. From 1989 Vowles Transport Ltd commenced interisland operations between Auckland and Christchurch, which today remains the mainstay of our business.

In 2000 a Limited Company was formed with Lindsay and Heather being the sole directors.
A key element to our success over the past 30 years can be put down to our team, who as we point out, are the cornerstone of our business. We have made a concerted effort over the years to build a passionate culture with the goal of remaining an employer of choice in the express line haul market for not only today but also in the future.

In 2013 we opened a new Transport centre at 120 Avenue Road R D 2 Morrinsville and have purpose built a freight facility and storage shed on this site with further development planned near in the future.

In 2015 a facility in Rolleston was opened as a centre for our South Island freight division.
